The Southall Story Gallery presents a collection of galleries bringing out the flavours and textures of Southall ranging from personal family snap-shots, documentary style photography through to photographs of films and films crews around Southall.

The gallery opens with a series of photographs by Ammy Phull with a collection entitled ‘Southall through the ages’; followed by on location shots of Shakila Maan’s feature film ‘The Winter of Love’. The music for the film was created by composer Kuljit Bhamra.

‘Southall through the ages’ presents a candid and personal world-view of photographer Ammy Phull. His pictures show the people of Southall and the changing landscape. This collection will increase in time and bring to the fore Ammy’s world view of Southall and his relationship with this vibrant and inspiring town.

The Winter of Love [Film]

‘The Winter of Love’ takes you into the moody and dark world of Shammi Singh (Shiv Grewal) with glimpses of colour with Preeti (Gurpreet Bhatti) and her doting father Paji (Dev Sagoo). Shot on location on the streets of Southall, including Kuljit’s Red Fort Studios, the photographs portrays the intimate value and musicality of the film.
